No fewer than six persons are feared dead and several others injured after a fight broke out during the All Progressives Congress (APC), Benue South caucus meeting in Otukpo on Friday.
During the meeting, fight broke out between some boys believed to be loyal to the current chairman of the party in the state and a senatorial seat aspirant.
Among the dead is one Pastor Sam.
Addressing reporters on the development, the Otukpo Divisional Police Officer, Obo Ukam Obo, said the police were aware of the meeting scheduled for Double K Resort and were shocked that members a the same political party could disagree to the extent of killing.
Obo said the Division had commenced investigation and that those found wanting would be apprehended and prosecuted.
The party’s Director of Publicity, Apeh Peter, was however, not ready to give details of the fracas.
