Nigeria’s COVID-19 infections crossed 45,000 on Thursday as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control,NCDC reported 354 new cases .
The Centre announced this through its verified Twitter handle revealed that the new Infections were confirmed in 16 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
With the new Infections, the country confirmed cases now stands at 45,244 according to the agency.

A breakdown of the new infections from the virus indicated that the FCT recorded the highest number with 78 new cases followed by Lagos with 76 new Infections.
Other states with confirmed cases of COVID-19 include Kaduna -23,Ebonyi – 19; Oyo – 18; Nasarawa – 17; Rivers – 17; Delta -16; Kwara – 15; Akwa Ibom – 13; Edo – 12 and Ogun -12, Plateau – 11; Kano – 9; Bauchi – 6 ; Borno – 6 and Ekiti -6.
According to NCDC data,32,430 persons who contracted the virus have been successfully treated and discharged while 930 persons have lost their lives to the virus.
The Agency also announced the inclusion of the General Sani Abacha State Specialist Hospital,Yobe to the NCDC Molecular Laboratory Network bringing to 62 laboratories with capacity to test for COVID19 in the country.
