A military aircraft crashed on Sunday a few yards off the runway at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja with all the personnel on board dead.
The Nigerian air Force,NAF spokesman,Air Vice Marshal Ibikunle Daramola confirmed this in a statement via his official Twitter page.
Daramola said the Beechcraft KingAir B350i aircraft crashed while returning to the Abuja Airport, adding that all 7 personnel on board died in the crash.
He further stated that the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Oladayo Amao has ordered an immediate investigation into the accident.
While urging the general public to remain calm and await the outcome of the investigation, the CAS, on behalf of all Nigerian Air Force personnel, commiserated with the families of the deceased.
Earlier on , the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika on Twitter said the aircraft reported engine failure en route Minna, Niger state,urging Nigerians to remain calm and pray for the departed souls if any.
