Veteran Nollywood actress Faithia Williams, also known as Fathia Balogun has taken to social media to mourn the loss of her mother, who passed away unexpectedly just before her 55th birthday celebration.
The veteran actress disclosed that her birthday was on Thursday, February 5, but she chose to celebrate with a party on Sunday.
Her mother passed away on Saturday evening, the night before the party. The family decided to wait until after the celebration to share the news, hoping not to affect her special day.
“The reality of her passing has not totally dawned on me,” Williams wrote. She described her mother as her “cheerleader, prayer warrior, best friend, and gist partner wrapped in the invaluable gift of a mother.” Williams also shared her gratitude for the comfort she has found in Allah during this difficult time.
The Williams’ family is keeping things private for now and will share burial details later. The actress has asked for love, prayers, and understanding from the public and her colleagues as she and her siblings go through this time.
