Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri says government will support about 10,000 Farmers to participate actively in this year dry season farming to improve food security in the State.
The Governor dropped the hint when he granted audience to the 21 Local Government Youth Leaders of PDP who paid him a solidarity visit in the Government House, Yola.
The Governor explained that the decision was based on the observation that the produce for this rainy season was not quite appreciable hence the need to support farmers to go into dry season farming.
The Governor declared that he has mandated the relevant Ministries to earmark arable lands at the Local Government Levels and distribute to the youths and give them support to venture into agric-business.

He added that his Administration will continue to create viable opportunities for youths and give them a sense of belonging through empowerment initiatives and skill acquisition programme and tasked the Youth Leaders to sensitize their followers on the need for peaceful coexistence and embrace Government empowerment programmes meant for their development.
He admonished youths in Adamawa not to copy from their counterparts in other States as the State is not yet developed and has dwindling resources, calling on them to support the present Administration to reposition the State.
According to the Governor,since his ascent into office, Government has deployed adequate funds to the education for improvement in the sector and assured the youths of Government readiness to continue in that regard.
Earlier in his remarks, the spokesman of the 21 Local Government Youth Leaders, Abdurrahman Musa who is the Youth Leader of Yola North Local Government Area commiserates with Governor Fintiri on the recent uprising.
He saluted Governor Fintiri for fulfilling all his campaign promises in less than 2 years in office, and pledged that as Youths Leaders they will make efforts to ensure peace and stability in their respective Local Government Areas.
