Having lost the Governorship contest for the sixth consecutive time in Delta State, Chief Great Ogboru is not done yet with his mission to clinch the top job of the oil rich state.
Speaking on the Saturday governorship and state Assembly election in the state, the APC candidate who lost to the incumbent PDP rival described the process as the worst that has ever happened in the 20 years history of Delta State.
Despite this, Ogboru has assured his supporters that he would take the necessary steps to protect the franchise and mandate of Deltans through a legal means.
“This is the worst election we have witnessed in Delta State in the past 20 years, the reign of terror, the number of dead, and of course the accreditation records from INEC testifies that the PDP was unduly influencing, interfering with the process of the election which is to say that the election was neither credible, neither was it free or fair.
“I and most Deltans believed that those elections, if and when properly conducted, APC should have won, and we believed that up until some few hours to the conclusion of the polls that we were winning bit unfortunately, just after midday, thugs, uniformed persons working with the PDP in Delta State, started to rain terror on our agents and defenseless voters.
“Just like the decision our party has taken, we therefore reject the results.
“We will take all legal means to defend our franchise and reclaim our mandate.” Ogboru stated.
