The Ondo State commissioner for Information and Orientation, Yemi Olowolabi has charged the people of Ondo state to keep faith with the Rotimi Akeredolu-led government in the state.
Olowolabi stated this while addressing journalists in Lagos shortly after his induction as an associate member of the Nigerian Institutes of Public Relations (NIPR). According to him, Akeredolu’s brand which stands for integrity, performance and delivery has made the job of image making of Ondo State government very easy.
“Akeredolu is a man who stands with the rule of law at all times. He is a man who makes a promise and stands by it. He is a man whose integrity opens doors for us. “Therefore, Marketing that brand has been extremely refreshing and a worthwhile experience for us” He stated.
While responding to the criticisms that trail the performance of Rotimi Akeredolu’s government in the last one year, Olowolabi maintained that the governor has done more than any of his predecessors in one year.
“He has constructed more roads than any of his predecessors within a space of one year. What he has done in education sector and health sector is unprecedented.
“He was a governor who met seven months of unpaid salaries in the State and promised he would not owe one day salary and till date, he has kept to his word. “Out of seven months salaries he inherited, he has paid five months. That is a man whose integrity precedes him at all times.” Olowolabi said
Earlier on, the president of the Institutes, Dr. Rotimi Oladele while giving his opening remark has commended the Ondo State Governor for sharing the views and aspirations of the institutes and for embracing the importance of communications and public relations to his government. He however tasked other states government on inclusiveness.
