The Akwa Ibom State Government has postponed the resumption of all public schools in the state from Monday 16th November 2020 to Monday 23rd November 2020.
A statement released by the state Commissioner for Education, Mrs Enobong Mbobo stated that the new resumption date is to enable schools complete their examinations and record scores appropriately, noting that the ENDSARS protest had disrupted academic activities and the school calendar.
She said, ” Sequel to this Public and Private schools in Akwa Ibom state will now resume for the first term 2020/2021 academic session on Monday 23rd November 2020.

Mbobo noted that new list of books for Secondary Schools have been approved by the Ministry and is available for collection.
She however advised Parents and Guardians to use the one week period to prepare their wards for resumption of new school year by providing books,uniforms, lockers as well as general stationaries to help them succeed.
