Billionaire businessman and father of Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke Davido, Dr. Deji Adeleke, has publicly addressed the long-standing paternity allegations involving his son and Ayo Labinjo.
During a press conference held on Wednesday, Dr. Deji Adeleke addressed the claims that Davido fathered a daughter named Aanuoluwapo with Ayo Labinjo following an alleged encounter years ago.
In clips from the press conference circulating on social media, Dr. Deji Adeleke stated he has 14 grandchildren and firmly addressed the controversy, including accusations of impersonation.
He alleged that controversial figure Kemi Olunloyo has been impersonating the young child Anu.
He said: “To start with, let me put it to record that I have fourteen grandchildren. I will tell you the story about Anuoluwapo and what has happened since.
“I received a letter in 2014 from a lawyer in Ibadan alleging that my son David got someone pregnant and abandoned the person with the child. I will tell you the actions I took immediately.
“I’m holding this press conference to address the situation. I’m not even sure it is legal to impersonate a minor, because this Kemi Olunloyo has been after my son David for many years. Everything she says about David is always negative and trying to put him in bad light with the public.”
The billionaire revealed that Ayo’s sister who stays in Abuja, after seeing the issue reached out to him.
Reading the message word for word, he said, “Good afternoon sir, sir. I hope your day is going well. I just saw this on a blog post. I just want to clarify that the account is not run by me, Ayo or my mom. The account is run by Kemi Olunloyo, whom we have caught ties with years ago. I really do not know why she keeps posting these things, knowing fully well that we are no longer in communication. We have reached out to her several times to stop posting anything about Anu. I’m sorry if this embarrasses your family in any way.”
Dr. Deji Adeleke stressed the family’s stance on blood relations and reiterated that the paternity tests have shown no biological link. He dismissed persistent calls for additional tests as unnecessary harassment.
The issue resurfaced recently when Anu, now a teenager, publicly appealed on her Instagram page for a fresh DNA test to confirm whether Davido is her biological father.
In response to the renewed drama, Dr. Deji Adeleke confirmed the family’s position, noting that all conducted DNA tests were negative.
Ayo Labinjo countered these claims, insisting only one DNA test was conducted in 2014 (which she alleges was mishandled or fake), and has called for an independent, transparent process, possibly supervised internationally.
