The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared the governorship primary election held in Edo State as inconclusive.
The decision followed the controversies trailing the elections in which three candidates emerged.
After an emergency meeting by its national working committee, the party said a new primary would be held on Thursday to determine its standard bearer for the September 21, 2024 governorship election in the State.
The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Felix Morka made the position of the party known in a statement issued late on Tuesday.
“At its emergency meeting held today, Tuesday, February 20, 2024, to consider the report on the Edo state governorship primary election, the national working committee (NWC) deliberated on the report and resolved that the Edo state governorship primary election has not been completed, and has now fixed Thursday, February 22, 2024, for the completion of the primary election process,” the statement reads.
