A panel of the Court of Appeal in Abuja, has nullified orders by a Federal High Court stopping former National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party,Uche Secondus and two others from attending the meetings of the party’s National Executive Committee.
Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, had in separate cases barred Secondus; a former Governor of Rivers State, Celestine Omehia, and former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Austin Opara, from attending the meetings.
But in three separate judgements on Friday, the appellate court upheld the appeals filed by the three chieftains.
The appellate court said the trial court had no right to decide for the party those to participate in its meetings.
It held that the matter was an internal matter for the party and was therefore not justiciable.
