The Lagos State Police Command says it now has custody of Adeleye Ayomide, who is accused of killing a 300-level student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta in Ogun State, Idowu Christiana.
The spokesperson of the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the development in a brief statement posted on his X handle on Thursday.
According to him, the suspect was handed over to the police by men of the Nigerian Army who arrested the suspect.
“23-year-old Ayomide Adeleye has been handed over to #LagosPoliceNG by 9 Brigade #HQNigerianArmy. The handover took place today, September 5, 2024, at about 1400hrs. Investigation is ongoing,” Hundeyin wrote.
Christiana Idowu, who was kidnapped between Ikorodu and Yaba in Lagos State on Monday, August 19, 2024.
The abductors initially demanded N3 million as ransom, before they could release the student.
The suspect, said to be a student of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, allegedly kidnapped and k!lled Christiana after collecting N350,000 ransom from her family.
