Anambra State GovetFour former operatives of the Anambra State security outfit, Operation Udo-ga-achi, have been arraigned before the Children, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Court in Awka.
The accused Emmanuel Samson (29), Jude Obasi (43), Michael Ndudirim (28), and Ezinwanne Nweke (27), are facing charges for allegedly assaulting a female National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving in the state.
The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, filed a seven-count charge against the defendants for conspiring to commit a felony, indecent assault, inflicting physical injuries, stripping, and unlawfully intimidating a corps member in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area.
All four defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges. As a result, the Presiding Chief Magistrate, U.E. Onochie, granted them bail following an application by their defense counsel.
“This case is hereby adjourned to the 14th day of January, 2026, for definite hearing,” the magistrate ruled.
Recall that armed operatives of Operation Udo-ga-achi, the Anambra State security network were captured in a viral video invading a corps member’s lodge and assaulting a female corps member, identified as Jennifer Elohor.
After an internal investigation by the Anambra State Government, eight operatives were reportedly dismissed.
However, only four out of eight dismissed operatives were arraigned.
