Former Nigeria Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has expressed sadness at the kidnap of students and staff of the Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic in Zaria on Thursday night while calling on security agencies to ensure they regain their freedom.
He however implored State and Federal government to ensure that everything needed to secure the release of the students are provided.
He wrote; “I am saddened by reports of yet another kidnap of students at the Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic in Zaria, Kaduna State.
“It would have been better if such an attack was preemptively nullified. But now that it has unfortunately happened, this is time for everyone – federal and state governments, security agencies, families of the abducted students and citizens – to join hands to work assiduously to free the students.
“Every resource needed to release the students should not be spared.
“Meantime, my thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of the affected students.”
