Further hearing in the 18-count charge trial bordering on armed robbery, murder, attempted murder, and possession of firearms of Mukaila Lamidi, popularly known as ‘Auxiliary’ a former Chairman, Disciplinary Committee, Oyo State Park Management System (PMS) was stalled on Thursday due to the ongoing swearing-in ceremony of new judges.
Justice Bayo Taiwo of Fiat Court 2, Oyo State High Court, Ibadan, however, said the case, earlier adjourned on Nov. 27 to Thursday, will resume in Dec. 20.
The 63-year-old Auxilary was also not brought to the court by officials of the Agodi Correctional Centre.
The prosecution, led by the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Mr S. O. Adeoye, had on Nov. 27 opened trial of Auxiliary by calling on two witnesses to give their oral testimonies.
Adeoye alleged that he committed the offence at about 2. 00 p.m. on May 29, 2023, at Gov. Seyi Makinde’s residence at Ikolaba in Ibadan.
According to him, it is punishable under Section 1(2) (a) and (b) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act, CAP RII, Vol. 14, Laws of Federation of Nigeria.
