Armed bandits on April 5, 2025 launched a brutal attack on Rakyabu Village in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, around 6:30 p.m.

The assailants opened fire indiscriminately, causing widespread panic among villagers, and set several houses ablaze.

According to intelligence sources, during the attack, the bandits abducted five women, including one identified as Rakiya Adamu and four others, before fleeing the scene.

The attackers quickly vanished to an unknown location.

Troops from Operation FANSAN YANMA were swiftly deployed to the village, but by the time they arrived, the bandits had already left.

Reports indicate that authorities are currently working to ensure the safe return of the kidnapped women.
