Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed on Saturday urged Sharia Court of Appeal in the state to come up with new strategy of enforcing and inculcating discipline in the society.
The governor gave the advice while presiding over the swearing in ceremony of the newly appointed Acting Grand Khadi, Umar Ahmed Liman held at the Council Chamber, Government House, Bauchi.
Governor Bala Mohammed tasked the sworn in acting grand khadi on the implementation of sharia law in such a manner that will be effective in Bauchi in order to minimize crime and criminality in the state.
While expressing concern over the delay in the dispensation of justice, the governor called on the sharia court judges at the grassroots to tackle irregularities at their lower courts.
“Let me congratulate our new brand Grand Khadi for his well deserved appointment and I am challenging you to make a difference. Judiciary has come to stay as the last hope of the common man because of the dispensation of justice.”
“I must commend the Chief Judge for doing justice in the selection of judges and khadis and our new grand khadi must consider justice and equity as his watchword.”
Governor Bala Mohammed who saluted former grand khadis for their outstanding contributions to sharia legal system in Bauchi, pledged to support the new khadi to achieve the desired objectives.
