Members of the Boko Haram terrorists’ group on Friday attacked a convoy of the Borno state government officials along Monguno, Baga road, killing 12 police men, 5 soldiers and several civilians.
The incident happened around 2pm while the convoy was heading to Baga town ahead of the government’s plan to return internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Maiduguri to Baga.
However, they were ambushed shortly after leaving Monguno by suspected Boko Haram fighters at Kekano village.
Report says the terrorists also seized and carted away one police armoured car, one gun truck belonging to the military and six government vehicles.
