Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari has touched down in Benue State to meet with governor Samuel Ortom and some of the stakeholders in the North East state.
The Nigerian Air Force flight touched down in Makurdi at about 10:45 on Monday morning.
The president headed to the government house where he will meet with the governor and then stakeholders, who were already waiting to receive him.
Benue has been badly hit by herdsmen who have killed thousands of residents in the state.
Buhari was earlier scheduled to visit the Tor-Tiv, Prof. James Ayatse, the Exercise Cat Race Camp and also meet IDPs in Gbajimba, Guma LGA headquarters, but will unfortunately not be able to make other visits asides the meeting with stakeholders.
On January 1, 2018, over 70 people were killed by herdsmen in Benue State.
After that incident, several others have taken place, with the Nigerian Army now ready to take the bull by the horn.
