The Lagos State Police command has launched an investigation into the mysterious death of a Canadian national identified simply as Sullivan, who was found dead in his hotel room in Victoria Island.

It was gathered that the incident occurred in the early hours of October 7, just five days after Sullivan checked into the hotel on October 2.

According to a hotel attendant who spoke on condition of anonymity, the guest was discovered unresponsive on the floor of his room after several attempts to reach him failed.

The hotel’s Chief Security Officer subsequently reported the incident to the Victoria Island Police Division around 4:30 pm.

Police detectives promptly arrived at the scene, where they documented and examined the area.

A police source confirmed that no visible marks of violence were found on Sullivan’s body, indicating that foul play was not immediately suspected.

The deceased’s remains were later transported to the Lagos Island General Hospital, Marina, where a medical officer pronounced him dead.

His body has since been deposited in the hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.

While preliminary findings suggest no evidence of homicide, the Lagos State Police Command has said that further investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of death
