Christopher Kolade dies at 92

Broadcasting icon and former Nigerian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Dr Christopher Kolade, has passed away at age 92.

Dr. Kolade’s demise was announced in a short statement by his family on Thursday.

“We are thankful for his incredible life of faith and service; and are grateful for God’s abundant blessings,” the statement read in part.

The statement said the late broadcaster died peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.

Born on December 28, 1932, Dr Kolade had a distinguished career as a diplomat, academic, advocate for integrity and corporate governance, among other things.

He is a former Director General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation and also served as the Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom between 2002 and 2007
