The Government of Ondo State has extended by one week, the April 24 deadline for the compulsory use of nose masks.
Consequently, May 1, 2020 is now the commencement date of the directive jointly adopted by the Governors of the South West Region among other measures, to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The shift in the commencement date is as a result of the apparent scarcity of the masks in desirable quantities to effect the enforcement of the directive. Against this backdrop government has approved the setting up of a Special Committee for the mass production of Nose Masks for the use of the people of the state.
The constitution of this committee is a follow-up to the decisions taken at the virtual meeting of the Southwest Governors, held on Thursday, 18th April, 2020.
Membership of the committee is as follows:
1. Mr. Gani Muhammed Ajowa State chapter of National Union of Tailors- Member
3. Mrs. Eunice Titilayo Oparinde – Member
4. Mrs. Sarah Emmanuel- Member
5. Pharmacist Folake Aladenola- Secretary
The committee, will among other things, source for materials for the production of Nose mask, identify qualified tailors across the three Senatorial districts and to put in place machinery for the distribution of nose masks to all residents of the state among others.
