With Ondo State recording over thirty new positive cases of Covid-19 within a week, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has said the spate of rising cases is a cause for concern.
Akeredolu made this known in Akure during a press briefing on coronavirus at the Government House.
He explained that eleven of the new cases were in Okitipupa Local Government Area, while seven were health workers who contracted the virus at a private hospital in the area.
According to him, this is a frightening and embarrassing situation which tells us that Covid-19 is close to all residents.
His words, “We have a total of seventy three confirmed positive cases, thirty treated and discharged, thirty one active cases and nine deaths
“Some arrests were made yesterday while vehicles were also impounded because they were outside after the 7pm curfew,” he said.
