More than eight weeks after the index case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Nigeria, Four new states across the country have joined the list of states with confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus. They are Ebonyi, Bayelsa, Kebbi with one case each, and Taraba 6. This brings the total number of states affected to 32 and the Federal Capital Territory
According to the NCDC in its latest update about the pandemic “91 new cases of #COVID19 reported; 43-Lagos, 8-Sokoto,6-Taraba, 5-Kaduna, 5-Gombe, 3-Ondo, 3-FCT, 3-Edo, 3-Oyo, 3-Rivers, 3-Bauchi, 2-Osun, 1-Akwa Ibom, 1-Bayelsa, 1-Ebonyi, 1-Kebbi”
The total number of cases in Nigeria now stands at 1,273. Five new fatalities were recorded in the country, making a total of 40 deaths, 239 has however been discharged as of Sunday 26 April.
