Nigeria has recorded 288 new COVID-19 cases on Friday 15the May , this was made known via a tweet by the NCDC, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 5,445.
The tweet stipulated that 179 of the new cases were recorded in Lagos, 20 in Kaduna, 15 each in Katsina and Jigawa, 13 in Borno, 11 in Ogun, 8 in Kano, 7 in FCT, 4 each in Niger and Ekiti, 3 each in Oyo, Delta and Bauchi, while Kwara records 2, Edo recorded 1 case.
The center further stated that 1,320 successfully recovered patients of COVID-19 have been discharged while the death toll from the pandemic across the nation stands at 171.
Across the world over 4,981 deaths and 96,039 new cases have been recorded in the last twenty-four hours, with the most new fatalities reported in the United States
The United States has the highest toll of deaths overall with 86,744 from 1,429,990 cases and about 246,414 declared recovered.
Britain has the second highest toll with 33,998 deaths from 236,711 cases. Italy is third with 31,610 deaths and 223,885 cases, France with 27,529 deaths and 178,870 infections and Spain with 27,459 fatalities and 230,183 cases.
