The Nigeria Center for Disease Control,NCDC has confirmed additional 193 cases of COVID-19 on Thursday 14th,May bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 5,162.
According to the agency’s post on Twitter, Lagos took back the lead in number of cases on state-to-state basis, reporting 58 infections while kano is second with 46 new cases.
Breakdown of the new cases from others states are 35 -Jigawa, 12 -Yobe, 9 – FCT, 7- Ogun, 5 each in Plateau and Gombe, 4 -Imo, while Edo, Kwara and Borno have 3 cases each, Bauchi, Nasarawa and Ondo have 1 case each
The center added that 3 new deaths were recorded which makes 167 COVID-19 deaths in the country, while 1180 have been discharged.
Advocating for the flattening of the Curve, Nigerians are advised to observe the COVID-19 guidelines, wash hands regularly or use alcohol based sanitizer, observe social / physical distancing and wearing of nose masks in all public gatherings.
