COVID19: NCDC Confirms 221 New Infections

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has recorded 221 new cases of coronavirus disease in the country .

The agency confirmed in a tweet via the official Twitter account of the NCDC on Friday night.

The new cases were recorded in 17 States including the federal Capital Territory with Lagos confirming the highest number of cases with 59 cases followed by Abia with 46 cases.

Other states are; FCT-22, Gombe-20, Plateau-17, Rivers-11, Bauchi-7, Benue-6, Ekiti-6, Imo-6, Kaduna-4, Kwara-4, Ondo-4, Ogun-3. Osun-3, Bayelsa-1, Edo-1, Kano-1.

As at Friday the total confirmed cases in Nigeria stands at 56,956 out of which 48,305 have been successfully treated and discharged from the various isolation centres across the country.

Unfortunately 1,094 person’s have lost their lives to the virus.
