Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday announced 58 new cases of COVID-19 raising infections in the country to 163,388.
According to the health agency, the 58 new cases were confirmed in 10 states and the FCT with Lagos recording the higheat figure with 32new cases.
Other States with new infections are ; Kaduna (5) Enugu (4), Kano (4), Edo (3), FCT (3) Osun (3), Abia , Bauchi, Gombe and Rivers, one each.
The health agency said since the outbreak of the pandemic over a year ago 163,388 cases have been confirmed out of which 153,630 cases have been discharged leaving 7,700 active cases in the country.
Even though no COVID19 deaths have been recorded for some days, 2,058 people have lost their lives since the outbreak.
The agency stated that the country has tested 1,803,177 samples since the first confirmed case of COVID-19 was announced on Feb. 27, 2020.
