Born on September 2, 1968, in Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State, CP Adesola holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Ondo State University and was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in June 1994. He trained at the prestigious Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, and was first deployed to Delta State in 1996, where he served in Ogwashi-Uku.

A seasoned officer with decades of experience, CP Adesola has served in diverse operational, investigative, administrative and training capacities across the country. His postings include Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Aswani Division; Officer-in-Charge (OC) Homicide, Edo State Command; OC X-Squad, Zone 2, Lagos; Assistant Commissioner of Police (Finance and Administration), Abia State Command; Commandant, Police Training School, Oyin-Akoko, Ondo State; Deputy Commissioner of Police (Administration), Department of Operations, Force Headquarters; Deputy Commissioner of Police, SCID, Rivers State; and most recently, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), Delta State Command.

Following his elevation to the rank of Commissioner of Police in 2025, he served briefly as Deputy Commandant, Police College, Ikeja, Lagos, before his deployment to Delta State in January 2026.

In furtherance of his professional development, CP Adesola has attended several leadership and specialised courses, including the Citizenship and Leadership Course in Jos; Leadership and Tactical Command Courses at the Police Staff College, Jos; Police Mobile Training Course in Gwoza; Community Policing Train-the-Trainers Course in Ikeja; and International Law Enforcement Agency (ILEA) programmes in Botswana and the United States.

Widely described as disciplined, detribalised and people-oriented, the new Commissioner is known for his humility, professionalism and strong commitment to community-based policing. He is married with children and enjoys reading, travelling and football.

While formally taking over leadership of the Command, CP Adesola pledged to consolidate existing security frameworks and intensify proactive policing across Delta State.

He appealed to residents to continue supporting the Police and other security agencies, while urging youths to shun crime and all forms of criminal inducement.

In his handing-over remarks, AIG Abaniwonda expressed deep appreciation to the Delta State Government and the people for their cooperation during his tenure, urging them to extend the same support to his successor.

Addressing journalists, CP Adesola assured residents that under his watch, the Delta State Police Command would remain firm, professional and proactive, making the state increasingly hostile to criminal elements.

The development was announced in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, SP Bright Edafe.
