The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Egbuka has vowed to clamp down on any criminal element trying to disturb the peace of the festive season.
He made the assertion on Saturday when he led a team of officers on a confidence-boosting and visibility patrol and also to assess the deployment of personnel and operational assets along the major highways across the state.
Fielding questions from journalists, Egbuka, explained that he embarked on the patrol to assess the level of compliance on the directives given to the Divisional Police Officers and their supervising Area Commanders to take charge of their area of responsibility.
Egbuka, however, charged them to redouble their efforts and contain any criminal element who might want to take advantage of the festive period to perpetrate evil acts.
