The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Wednesday affirmed Dr. Asue Ighodalo as the authentic Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State.
Justice James Omotosho while delivering judgment in the suit marked CS/469/24, held that Dr. Ighodalo was duly nominated at the 22 February primaries election of the PDP which held in Benin City.
He thereafter dismissed the case filed against his nomination by the Plaintiff, the impeached former deputy governor, Philip Shaibu.
Ighodalo emerged the governorship candidate of the PDP in a primary election held on 22 February 2024, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.
He scored a total of 577 votes to beat his closest rival, Philip Shaibu and 10 other aspirants.
