Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested, Archbishop Angel Oyeghe, the founder of Faith Healing Ministry Incorporated, located along DSC expressway, Okpaka in Udu local government area of Delta State.
Archbishop Oyeghe was arrested by EFCC operatives from the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Commission on Tuesday for conspiracy, Naira mutilation and suspected money laundering.
Oyeghe, a well-known Archbishop within Warri metropolis, was arrested following a viral video where several individuals under her supervision were seen spraying Naira notes on a live cow during a programme in her church.
According to the EFCC, the action of spraying Naira notes on the live cow during the church programme contravenes the provision of Section 21 of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007.
“The self-acclaimed Archbishop… was arrested following a viral video where several individuals under her supervision were seen spraying Naira note on a live cow during a church programme.
“The Commission is on the trail of arresting other suspects as their action contravenes the provision of Section 21 of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007.
“Archbishop Oyeghe has made useful statements and will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” the EFCC stated.
