The Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC has confiscated the Sun Newspaper’s office on Saturday.
The action was taken in compliance with the court order that sentenced its owner, the former governor of Abia State, senator Orji Uzor Kalu to 12 years imprisonment.
According to the anti-graft Agency, all properties belonging to the former governor will be marked for seizure in the process of retrieving the sum of 6.75bn stolen while in government.
Senator Kalu who represents Abia North at the National Assembly was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment December 5, 2019 on the order of Justice Mohammed Idris of the Federal High Court, Ikoyi Lagos.
He was arraigned alongside his company, Slok Nigeria Limited and Udeh Udeogu, his Director of Finance and Accounts at the Abia State Government House, over an amended 39-count charge bordering on conspiring and diverting the sum of N7.65bn from the coffers of the state.
