The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps, codenamed So-Safe Corps, has deployed 900 officers across the state ahead of the 2025 Eid el-Fitr celebrations.

This was disclosed in a press statement by the commander of the corps, Soji Ganzallo, through the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander of Corps Moruf Yusuf on Thursday.

According to the statement, the Director of Operations and zonal commanders have been tasked with working closely with Muslim leaders, particularly imams, across the 20 local government areas of Ogun State to ensure the surveillance and protection of Eid prayer grounds.

The statement further emphasised that all deployed personnel must remain professional and civil while carrying out their duties.

Officers have been directed to actively engage in community security efforts, including sensitising the Muslim faithful, visitors, well-wishers, and community leaders on the need for heightened security awareness before, during, and after the Eid el-Fitr celebrations, scheduled to take place from Friday, 28 March, to Friday, 4 April 2025.

Ganzallo reaffirmed the Ogun State Government’s commitment to ensuring the security of individuals, groups, and corporate bodies, stressing that necessary measures have been put in place to maintain peace and order.

Part of the statement read: “Security remains a top priority, and we will deploy all necessary strategies to safeguard lives and property during this period.

“We also urge Christian families to extend their usual support to their Muslim neighbours by remaining vigilant and ensuring their communities are protected while Muslims attend Eid prayers.

The So-Safe Corps commander issued a stern warning to individuals or groups intending to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of the festivities, stating that the corps would not tolerate any security breach.

“Anyone with a hidden agenda to destabilise the peace during this period should rethink their actions. Our officers will be on high alert, and there will be no room for criminal activities,” he warned.
