As Muslims around the world celebrate eid, Jigawa State Governor Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar has called on Nigerians to pray for the end of insecurity in the country.
The Governor made the call while addressing newsmen after the eid prayers in Dutse, the jigawa state capital.
According to him, Nigerians need to be prayerful and learn to love and tolerate one another.
“I congratulate the people of Jigawa state for seeing a peaceful eid, and I call on them to be prayerful so that the country would overcome its challenges.” The Governor said.
He continued “ I cannot go beyond the summon of the Chief Imam who called on peaceful coexistence among Nigerian irrespective of tribe, ethnicity, and religion. If we develop tolerance and love the country would overcome its challenges.”
Similarly, the chief Imam of Dutse Central Mosque Dr. Abubakar Sani enjoined Muslims to love and respect one another irrespective of ethnicity and religion.
He also called on parents to take responsibility for their children and make sure they get good and quality education because according to him, Education is the key to solving the nation’s problems.
The eid was followed by a traditional durbar from the eid ground to the Emir’s palace.
