Benin City, the Edo state capital was in total lockdown on Monday, as the #EndSARS protesters took over all major roads in the entire metropolis and the nearby communities.
The protesters who mostly slept on the roads sang solidarity songs, shouting ‘Buhari must go with bonfires aat every space of the ever busy Ramat park and Benin/Agbor highway.
People have to walk to their various destinations as there was no vehicles plying the roads.
There was mild drama when a goat walked into the protesters and was hijacked, strangled to death and roasted in the bonfire on the road.
Another side to the hijacking of the protest in Benin was when hoodlums broke into the Nigerian Correctional Service, Benin-Sapele road, freeing inmates.
The hoodlums were said to have engaged prison officials in a gun-battle and successfully broke into the facility popularly called White House and freed inmates.
The protesters also allegedly burnt a police station.
In the past few days, hooligans have hijacked the #EndSARS protest in Edo to unleash terror on innocent people.
