The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Hajiya Sadiya Umar Faruk has directed that the suspension of Nasarawa State from the Conditional Cash Transfer programme be lifted immediately.
The directive to lift the suspension is a fall out of a meeting between the Nasarawa State Governor Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule and the Minister in Abuja.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor,Ibrahim Addra said the Minister also promised that additional indigent citizens of the state are to be registered.
Addra noted that Nasarawa State with 48,000 beneficiaries of the Conditional Cash Transfer scheme was suspended along with the State Operations Coordinating Unit, SOCU on the 5th of August, 2020. This was due to fraudulent activities of officials of the program in some Local Government Areas in 2018.

He said following the suspension the state Governor, Abdullahi Sule promptly set up an investigative committee on the 17th of August , 2020 headed by a former Secretary to the State Government Mr. Timothy Anjide. The committee has since submitted its report.
The minister also gave assurance that the cash transfer intervention programme in Nasarawa State is soon to be expanded to cover more local government areas other than the original Six.
