The 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, visited Borno State over the recent.
Atiku announced his arrival in Maiduguri in a post via his official Facebook page on Sunday.
“A short while ago, I arrived in Maiduguri for a sympathy visit to the people of Borno State over the recent catastrophic flooding,” he stated.
“I commiserate with the government and people of Borno State over the catastrophic flooding that led to the tragic loss of lives, destruction of property, and the displacement of hundreds of thousands from their homes.
“You are not alone in this difficult time, and I, on behalf of my family, pledge my full support towards the rebuilding efforts.”
Recall that flood waters have displaced more than one million people in and around Maiduguri, which serves as the hub for the responses to the humanitarian crisis in the northeast, in one of the worst ever floods in decades.
