Cross River State Governor , Ben Ayade, has imposed a 24-hour curfew on the state starting from 6 pm on Friday, following the hijacking of peaceful protest against police brutality by hoodlums in the state.
Ayade made this known in a statement signed by the Special Adviser Media and Publicity to the governor, Christian Ita.
Residents of the state are advised to observe the curfew as security agents have been mandated to arrest anybody who flouts it,” the governor warned.

Hoodlums had on friday looted some COVID-19 palliatives at the state government’s warehouse on Bishop Moinagh Avenue .
They carted away bags of rice, garri, cartons of noodles among other commodities.
The declaration of curfew in Cross River was coming at a time when states like Ondo Lagos,Edo and Osun were either lifting or relaxing the curfew earlier imposed.
