The Edo State Government has declared Friday, September 20, a work-free day to allow workers and other citizens to travel to their voting areas in preparation for the governorship election scheduled for Saturday, September 21.
In a statement issued by Joseph Eboigbe, Secretary to the Edo State Government (SSG), the government reassured the public that comprehensive security measures have been put in place to ensure a free, fair, and credible election.
“It’s hereby announced for the information of the general public that the Edo State Government has declared Friday, September 20, a work-free day.
“This is to enable workers and other electorates to travel to their voting areas ahead of the September 21 governorship election in the state,” Eboigbe said.
He wished the public safe travels and reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring a secure environment for the electoral process.
