Ahead of Saturday, October 5, 2024, Local Governments Elections in Jigawa State, the State Independent Electoral Commission, has inaugurated a 13-man Elections Malpractices Tribunal.
The Commission said creating the Tribunal is to clearly spell out its readiness to conduct a free and fair election.

The statement added that the State Chief Judge, Justice Umar Mai Gari, administered the oath on the tribunal judges under the leadership of Justice Musa Ubale.
“The Tribunal Judges are men of proven integrity and are well known in their judicial conducts, therefore they are to receive complaints from those who feel that the election is rigged, or they face harassment.”
