Multiple vehicles were engulfed in a fire that started on Saturday morning along the Kara Bridge section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire was triggered by an explosion from a petrol tanker.
The number of human casualties could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.
However, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency said miscreants brandishing dangerous weapons prevented emergency workers from putting off the petrol tanker fire early enough.

“The joint team was waylaid on arrival by a group of miscreants brandishing weapons and was forced to seek extra police cover from the Isheri Police Station.
“The operation commenced with the police protection until the group of assailants grew larger and caused significant damage to vehicles and threats to life of our personnel.
