The Katsina State House of Assembly has approved 245.4 billion Naira as the 2025 budget of 34 local governments in the state

The chairman of the local government committee and kingdoms, Hon. Ibrahim Danjuma Machika said this while reading the committee report in the parliament.

It was gathered that the committee invited 34 local governments where they finished their budget in the parliament.

The committee also gave recommendations including looking into the possibility of creating a special office that will manage the budget in each local government.

Then the committee requested the ministry of local government and kingdoms to provide training time after time to local government leaders and parliamentarians.

Other suggestions include calling on local governments to increase income raising funds.

Also, during the session, the Chairman of Finance Committee, Hon. Surajo Umar Baure, presented the report of the committee on the amendment of the law of buying and selling government goods (Katsina State Bureau of Public Procurement Law No. 13 2017).

Then the chairman of the committee of religious affairs of the parliament, Hon. Ummaru Ali Bindawa presented the committee’s report on the plan of reforming the law of Hisba Committee in 2022.

After discussing the report of the committee, the council, under the leadership of her grandfather, Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura agreed on the decision of the law, where he ordered the parliament to submit a message to the executive department.
