Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda on Tuesday flagged off the empowerment of 7,220 widows and less privileged women across the 34 Local Government Areas of the state.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Governor assured of his government’s readiness to support widows and less privileged women in the state to achieve lasting success.
He also assured determination to build a Katsina State where no one is left behind.
“We recognize the difficult challenges widows face for loosing their loved ones. We understand the numerous challenges they face.
” This program is aimed at restoring the dignity of widows and less privileged women.
“We are flagging off this program to 8040 beneficiaries from 4 LGAs namely: Katsina, Kaita, Batagarawa, and Rimi LGAs,” the governor said.
“The remaining 30 LGAs will be covered subsequently from tomorrow to ensure that all intended beneficiaries across the 34 LGAs are duly reached. This comprehensive empowerment program goes beyond temporary relief.”
He urged the beneficiaries to make the best use of the opportunities.
