A judge and two reverend sisters abducted in Akwa, Anambra State, have been released from kidnappers’ den.
According to reports, the trio, identified as Vincentia Maria Nwankwo and Grace Mariette Okoli, Reverend sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of Christ, and the judge whose identity was withheld were abducted last week.
A family source to the judge noted that he was released 24 hours after his abduction, leading to more widespread jubilations.
Confirming the release of the reverend sisters, a statement released by the IHM Secretary General, Sr. Maria Sobenna Ikeotuonye, titled “Notification of Release and Expression of Profound Gratitude,” says
“I bring to your notice in joy that our dear Sisters Vincentia Maria Nwankwo and Grace Mariette Okoli, who were kidnapped in the evening of Tuesday, 7th January 2025, have been released unconditionally and in good health.”
