The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has shut down multiple top hotels, bars, churches, and businesses over persistent noise pollution and other violations endangering public health.
The enforcement team, in a major operation in Ogudu, Ojota, Apapa, and Alapere, shut down major establishments flouting Lagos State’s environmental laws.
Among the affected businesses were Flame Gospel Ministry International, Degra Eng/Electronics, B B Arena Hotel, Becfom Hotel, LA Megga Foods, 3C Hub, Kamara’s Lounge, Quincy Int’l Hotel, Hotel De Julianna, J & A Hotel, Bulus Hotel & Century Night Club, Rich Trust Hotel, Gilly’s Guest House, Stac Marine Offshore, Arc Motors Servicing, GHK Logistics Base, Folade Hotels, and Deyus Place.
Speaking on the crackdown, LASEPA’s General Manager, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, delivered a stern warning: “Enough is enough! Lagosians deserve a peaceful and healthy environment. These businesses were given ample warnings, yet they chose to ignore them. This operation serves as a clear message—there is zero tolerance for environmental offenders!”
Ajayi emphasized that noise pollution and unchecked environmental violations threaten the well-being of residents and would no longer be tolerated.
He urged all businesses to comply with Lagos State’s environmental laws or face severe consequences.
With enforcement measures ramped up, LASEPA has vowed that this is just the beginning of its mission to reclaim Lagos from environmental offenders.
