The Minister of Works, Babatunde Fashola says the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the Second Niger Bridge and the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Highway will be completed in the first quarter of 2022.
Speaking during an appearance on TV , the minister revealed that The Second Niger Bridge, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Abuja-Kaduna-Kano roads are part of the projects under the Federal Government’s essential infrastructure development fund.
Although the projects was supposed to be completed in 2021 the minister noted that the coronavirus pandemic slowed down construction activities and government revenues.
Stating that the federal government wont pay for construction works made on federal roads Fashola says states that wish to embark on construction work should obtain approval from the ministry of works .
