COVID 19 UPDATE: Lagos records 378 new cases as Nigeria reaches 9,855

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on saturday confirmed 553 new cases of Coronavirus in the country bringing the total number of infections to 9,855.

Of the 553 new cases  confirmed in Nigeria, 378 were confirmed in Lagos State the highest since the infection broke out bringing the number of cases in Lagos to 4755.

Others states with the new infections are : FCT(52),Delta (23) Edo (22) Rivers(14),Ogun(13), Kaduna(12), Kano(9),Borno(7)Katsina(6), Jigawa(5), Oyo(5), Plateau(3), Yobe(3), Osun(1)

NCDC also announced the inclusion of an additional lab,Bauchi State Reference Molecular Laboratory to its Molecular Laboratory Network increasing its total number of labs in the country to 29.

According to the agency government is working hard to test and treat those infected with the virus.NCDC,however charged the public to be cooperative and avoid discrimination against those who may have been visited by public health officials.

Meanwhile,2,856 infected people have been discharged while 273 deaths have been recorded in Nigeria.
