Ex German international, Mesut Oezil has announced his retirement from professional football.
The world cup, champions league and FA cup winner disclosed this in a post on his Social Media pages on Wednesday, 22nd of March, 2023.
The 2014 world cup champions with Germany recalled his memorable moments from club football stints across Schalke 04, Real Madrid, Arsenal and others, while appreciating the fans for the constant support throughout his playing career.
“Now I am looking forward to everything beautiful that is in front of me with my beautiful wife, Amine and my two beautiful daughters , Eda and Ela but you can be sure you will hear from me from time to time on my Social Media channels. See you soon”, the statement read in part.
