President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of renowned engineer, industrialist, and philanthropist, Prince Michael Ayantunde Ponnle, describing him as a visionary whose contributions significantly advanced Nigeria’s engineering and industrial landscape.
Prince Ponnle, founder and Chairman of MicCom Engineering Nigeria Limited and the popular MicCom Wires and Cable Company, passed away at the age of 86. He was also the proprietor of the MicCom Golf and Resort in Ada, Osun State.
In a statement issued today by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu said the late engineer distinguished himself through dedication, innovation, and integrity, building MicCom Engineering into one of Nigeria’s most reputable indigenous industrial firms.
The President noted that Prince Ponnle’s professional excellence went hand in hand with a strong commitment to national development and community upliftment.
“Engineer Ponnle provided employment opportunities to many young people and contributed meaningfully to national development, while also helping to uplift his immediate community,” President Tinubu stated.
